Over the past few months, I’ve had conversation after conversation with people who all sound a little different but are asking the same question.
“I’ve given it everything I’ve got… so why do I still feel stuck?”
They’ve worked hard.
They’ve stayed committed.
They’ve sacrificed.
Yet it feels like they’re standing in the same place, wondering if they’ve already reached their ceiling.
If you’ve ever felt that way, I want to encourage you.
I don’t believe you’ve run out of greatness.
I believe there’s another level waiting to be unlocked.
As I reflected on those conversations, I was reminded of a game I used to play as a kid.
Hide-and-seek.
I always noticed something about the kids who were the fastest. The ones who never got tagged. The ones who always made it back to base.
They weren’t just running to something.
They were also running away from something.
That pressure made them move faster.
I’ve realized the same principle applies to life, leadership, and the pursuit of greatness.
The Half Most People Are Missing
Most people who feel stuck aren’t missing a dream.
They’ve got one.
They know where they want to go.
What they’re missing is something they’re determined to leave behind.
Maybe it’s a past failure.
A limiting belief.
Something someone said about them years ago.
Or a ceiling someone else placed over their life.
When you’re only running toward something, it’s easy to get comfortable. It’s easy to lose your urgency.
But when you’re running toward a dream and running away from something you refuse to go back to…
Everything changes.
You stop drifting and start moving with purpose.
You stop feeling stagnant and start building momentum.
You stop believing where you are is where you’ll always be.
Pressure creates speed.
YOUR PURSUIT OF GREATNESS
Name What You’re Running From
Identify the experience, thought, or limitation you refuse to let define you any longer. Let it become fuel instead of fear.
Name What You’re Running To
Get crystal clear on the vision, purpose, or standard you’re pursuing. A clear destination creates focused action.
Use Both to Move Faster
A dream gives you direction. Pressure gives you urgency. Together, they unlock another level of greatness.
You haven’t run out of greatness.
You may have simply been running with only half the equation.
